OTTMAR ETTE | DE
Born 1956 in the Black Forrest. Since October 1995 Chair in Romanic literature at the University Potsdam. 1990 doctorate at the University Freiburg i.Br. 1995 State doctorate (habilitation) at the Catholic University Eichstätt. Several guest lectureships in different Latin American countries as well as in the U.S.A.
2004-2005 Fellow at the “Wissenschaftskolleg zu Berlin” (Institute for Advanced Study Berlin)
2010 Fellow at the Freiburg Institute for Advanced Studies Responsible co-researcher of the DFG-Graduiertenkolleg "lebensformen + lebenswissen" (German Research Foundation research training group Forms of Life and the Know How of Living) (from winter term 2006/2007), of the international DFG-Graduiertenkolleg "Zwischen Räumen" (German Research Foundation research training group Between Spaces) (from winter term 2009/2010) as well as of the DFG-Graduiertenkolleg "Sichtbarmachung" (German Research Foundation research training group Visualisation) (from winter term 2010).
Ottmar Ette is a co-founder of ForLaBB (research association Latin America Berlin-Brandenburg). Furthermore he is the founder and co-editor of the electronic periodical “HiN – Alexander von Humboldt im Netz” (in the net) and of the Humboldt-platform avhumboldt.de, joint editor of the periodical “Iberoamericana” as well as of “Istmo. Revista virtual de estudios literarios y culturales centroamericanos”.
2010 Appointment as member of the Academia Europaea.
